Rich Harvie

Hi. I'm Rich Harvie. I graduated from the Massachusetts Collge of Pharmacy in 1974. Upon graduation, I became an instructor at MCP, teaching Professional Pharmacy Practice, as well as doing both laboratory and human research. I moved to Vermont in 1983 and worked for Brooks Pharmacy until Montpelier Pharmacy opened in 2007. I am very involved in both pharmacy and health care issues. I have been a member of the Vermont Drug Utilization Review Board since 1993 and have been istrumental in developing the Medicaid preferred drug list which has saved the State many millions of dollars. I spend many hours each year in the legislature trying to keep prescription drug costs down and trying to improve patient care. I grew up in Natick, Massachusetts and live in East Montpelier. I have two daughters, Sarah who works with me in the pharmacy, and Kaitlin who is attending Georgetown Law School and will graduate in 2011, and a grandson Mason. I love encouraging Mason to jump in puddles and enjoy walking in the woods and picking berries with him. Sarah does not appreciate the puddle-jumping. I enjoy, flyfishing, golf, snowshoeing and gardening. I am a die-hard Red Sox and Patriot fan.
